There is  much happening at Luciole Press these days. We are happy to celebrate our first anniversary, and offer up many heartfelt expressions of gratitude to our contributors and readers. It has been quite an enjoyable first year, and we are delighted with our shared experiences.

As we swing into Autumn, I hope that you are all feeling well, or at least continuing to be open to feeling, whether you are experiencing a successful harvest or contemplating a long winter ahead.

No matter the issues we face, art is a continuing solace and connection to vast and grand worlds, both inner and outer. The scope of art and its potential to heal is one topic I have been contemplating this summer. As we work towards the election of a president and a new administration here in the United States, we find ourselves facing a different landscape with potential new leaves to sprout in the coming Spring. I hope everyone, no matter their political bents or persuasions,  will make sure they vote in this election. Don't forget: November 4th!

Baby the Greatest, our feline advice columnist, continues to give sound advice to all humans who are smart enough to partake of his boundless wisdom. We have many repeat contributors, and quite a few new ones this issue. We continue to expand into new realms thanks to the efforts of many fine contributors, and I heartily encourage readers to check out all pages to partake of the journey offered by the artists, photographers, and writers of the Autumn Issue.

A BIG EVENT that should not be missed is Diana Bonebrake's show at Beyond Baroque on October 25th. Diana is a truly amazing artist who I cannot say enough good things about. Her artwork has always deeply impressed me, as well as the artist herself. Luciole Press is very fortunate to have her as the Art Editor. Everyone should check out this show! There will be music by The D.J. Bonebrake Trio! Poetry by such fine writers as S.A. Griffin (check out his lovely flyer, and his page here at Luciole), David Smith (likewise, please check out his page), John Dorsey, Doug Knott, and Craig Danielsen.

We have a holiday page dedicated to Halloween... check it out! This is certainly one of my favorite times of year; I especially love it when there is a huge moon hanging in a cool autumn night, with fresh breezes smelling of a hint of river and soil, with trees rustling all around.

Luciole Press was on the Jane Crown show on September 7th; please check out the link to listen to the program. Many thanks to Jane for having us on, and to Contributors Dena Rash Guzman, Lo Galluccio, Ellyn Maybe, and Scott Wannberg for calling in and reading poems... Diana and I had a great time talking with everyone! Topics ranged from intergalactic contributors from outerspace (hey, we are dedicated to all arts and cultures, right?) :) , to how a group of writers becomes like a coven...

(Update ~ October 13th) ... We were on the Onword radio program October 7th, in time to celebrate our anniversary/birthday! Hosted by the lovely S.A. Griffin, I happily gabbed with Scott Wannberg, Ellyn Maybe, Stacey Mangiaracina, Stacy of Campaign for Care,  and Diana Bonebrake about diverse topics such as blogging, politics, the world, and more... plus we read/listened to fine poetry, and they serenaded Luciole and I with a beautiful rendition of "Happy Birthday." Thanks to all of you, sincerely!

Another point of interest is the cultural phenomen building around the Twilight series, written by Stephanie Meyer. A movie version of the first novel will be released in November... thankfully, we have new contributor Annabelle Bonebrake to explain all we need to know to be a part of the burgeoning young adult zeitgeist.

I am thankful to be involved with all of the contributors in an artistic venture, and can't wait to see what we can accomplish together! I am very grateful to have been asked by Marion Berlinger if she could turn a poem of mine, "Peel" into a song on her new CD. You can check out her page to find more information... the CD is excellent! A must-listen:

Please check out Lo Galluccio's book, Sarasota VII.  Lo asked me to contribute a blurb to her book, and I was thrilled to do so. I highly recommend reading her book; check out her page for details...

We look forward to many more adventures with you all. Please do not hesitate to send in suggestions or contributions.

CHEERS for the first anniversary! We toast you all...
