DREAMING OF SHARKS
(A Shark's Dining Manifesto)
Yesterday I dreamed that I was lying on top of a floating raft. I was possibly the only survivor from a ship wreck. And yet I was calm, peaceful and relaxed as the ocean current carried me according to its own whim.
Suddenly, I felt this painful chomp, chomp, chomp, sensation on my side. I looked to the direction and I found a shark biting into me. I desperately began slapping, punching, kicking and screaming. When the shark left I began looking at my wounds, which surprisingly were superficial.
Now exhausted from the excitement I lay back down to fall into a much deeper sleep. When I woke up again, I found an envelope lying next to me.
Who could it possibly be? I wondered thoughtfully as I opened the letter.
Dear Craig,
You fought me off fair and square; I must admit you are a fighter. But don't be fooled into believing you are tougher then me. I was only playing with you the first time. I'm writing to let you know that I'm very, very hungry and I intend to eat you ASAP!!! You can struggle all you like, but it only excites me even more.
Yours Truly,
THE SHARK
Although the letter was a threat, I found him to be very concise and straight to the point, which is one of many things I admired about him. The other was his remarkable penmanship.
