Craig Caudill attended Northern Kentucky University, studying art history survey for three years out of fear he would have to teach instead of being creative. Craig never knew he would be creating Video Art displays and earning awards like the National Philo T. Farnsworth for Computer Video Art. Eventually, Craig began showing in local art galleries in the Cincinnati, Ohio area, as well as international exhibitions in Berlin, Germany, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lyon, France.

As a writer, he has been featured in journals such as Poetry Salzburg Review in Austria, Parameter Magazine in Manchester U.K., as well as smaller presses like Sein und Werdern, Zygote in my Coffee, and Mount Zion Press. Craig is currently writing a memoir, and two novels of fiction.

DREAMING OF SHARKS

(A Shark's Dining Manifesto)

Yesterday I dreamed that I was lying on top of a floating raft. I was possibly the only survivor from a ship wreck. And yet I was calm, peaceful and relaxed as the ocean current carried me according to its own whim.

Suddenly, I felt this painful chomp, chomp, chomp, sensation on my side. I looked to the direction and I found a shark biting into me.  I desperately began slapping, punching, kicking and screaming. When the shark left I began looking at my wounds, which surprisingly were superficial.

Now exhausted from the excitement I lay back down to fall into a much deeper sleep. When I woke up again, I found an envelope lying next to me.

Who could it possibly be? I wondered thoughtfully as I opened the letter.

Dear Craig,

You fought me off fair and square; I must admit you are a fighter. But don't be fooled into believing you are tougher then me. I was only playing with you the first time. I'm writing to let you know that I'm very, very hungry and I intend to eat you ASAP!!! You can struggle all you like, but it only excites me even more.

Yours Truly,
THE SHARK

Although the letter was a threat, I found him to be very concise and straight to the point, which is one of many things I admired about him. The other was his remarkable penmanship.
